The “Micro-Credentials as Evidence for College Readiness” NSF-supported workshop was held at the University of Michigan School of Information in May, 2017. The goal of the workshop was to explore the potential of digital micro-credentials—also known as digital badges—as a part of the college admissions process. To accomplish this, we convened college admissions personnel, youth-serving organizations that award digital badges, and assessment and learning researchers. This Rapid Community Report describes the attendees and structure of the workshop, and presents major findings and takeaways. This Rapid Community Report contains excerpts and summaries of material that can be found in the full workshop report, available from http://hdl.handle.net/2027.42/143851.
