Unlock the potential of multimodal learning analytics (MMLA) in this expertise connection, “Empowering Students, Teachers, and Researchers with Multimodal Learning Analytics.” From the research lab to the classroom, we’ll embark on an insightful journey exploring the multifaceted world of MMLA, focusing on applications, ethical considerations, and infrastructure needs.
Throughout this engaging session, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of MMLA, discovering its approachability and value in various educational settings. We’ll also shed light on the existing limitations and considerations that need careful attention. Moreover, you’ll connect with a network of experts and resources ready to assist you in harnessing MMLA’s potential for research and classroom support.
Our perspective on multimodal learning analytics spans two vital dimensions. First, we’ll delve into research analytics, showcasing how MMLA extracts insights from diverse learning environments, including K-12 classrooms, university discussion sections, mixed reality spaces, and training setups. These insights illuminate the learning and problem-solving processes taking place.
Second, we’ll explore educational interfaces that visualize data in ways that empower stakeholders, making it interpretable, actionable, and respectful of data ownership. As we demonstrate these opportunities, we’ll also acknowledge MMLA’s limitations. We’ll address concerns, discuss the selection of appropriate technology for classroom integration, and navigate issues related to data ownership, anonymization, and technical challenges faced by educators.
Here’s what our workshop schedule looks like:
Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of MMLA, leaving with a wealth of knowledge, a network of support, and a roadmap for harnessing the transformative potential of multimodal learning analytics.
