Visual Behavior Analysis (VBA) for learning is one of the richest resources for objectively record and analyze student’s learning and emotional states, especially in group settings.
One of these behavioral measures is mutual gaze, which is found to be related to the attention, and social intelligence of students. Another interesting measure is related to physical proximity, and movement synchrony among students of a team that can also be captured by video data. In this poster, we summarize a series of our research papers on video analysis for behavioral data in learning settings to predict student engagement and knowledge retention.
