Participating in Literacies and Computer Science (PiLa-CS) — a NYC-based research practice partnership housed at New York University and the City University of New York — seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to work on a Lucas Foundation-funded project. This project establishes a collaboratory between PiLa-CS and a University of California – Berkeley initiative called Writing Data Stories (WDS). Both projects focus on promoting equity in computing education at the middle school level, with a focus on Latinx bi/multilingual students in formal school settings. Both projects also center student voice using digital storytelling and expression, both foster research-practice partnerships with teachers, and use accessible software platforms with multilingual support.
They can hire for this position beginning immediately but intend to fill it by January 2022 presuming availability of the successful candidate. They will begin reviewing applications on Nov. 1 and will review them on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
